Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of rihado.com and any reservation you make through it. By using Rihado you agree to them.
In effect from 2026-10-01
1. Who we are
Rihado (“we”, “us”) is a booking service based at 418 Broadway, Ste N, Albany, NY 12207, United States: we search hotel rates, work out cheaper ways to book the same stay, and place reservations for you.
We are not the hotel, and we are not the merchant of record. Reservations are made, and payment is taken, by LiteAPI, our booking provider, which contracts with the hotels. The card details you enter go directly to their payment processor and never pass through our systems.
2. Using Rihado
- You must be at least 18 to book.
- You sign in with your email address, or with a Google account. Keep your sign-in link and your email account to yourself: anyone with them can see and cancel your trips.
- Member prices and smart bookings are shown to signed-in members only, because hotels do not allow their negotiated rates to be advertised publicly. They are for your own use. Do not publish, share or redistribute them, and do not use automated tools to collect prices or place reservations.
- Give us accurate information, and only book for people you are allowed to book for.
3. What you are booking
We find the best rates for your stay from multiple suppliers, and book the combination that costs least. When that combination is more than one rate, you are making several separate reservations, and you need to understand what follows from that:
- One confirmation number per reservation, not one for the trip. Keep all of them.
- Each reservation has its own cancellation terms. In the same stay, one can be refundable and another not. We show the terms of each before you pay, and you can choose free cancellation on every reservation where the hotels offer it.
- Cancelling one reservation does not cancel the others. If cancelling one would leave a night in the middle of your stay with nowhere to sleep, we tell you before you confirm.
- Stacked Rates: same hotel, same room type, usually the same room. With Stacked Rates we compare the rates many suppliers offer for your room, night by night, and book the best ones back to back. Each rate is its own reservation, with its own supplier’s terms. Every reservation is for the same room type, one straight after the other. At check-in, show the front desk all of your confirmation numbers and ask to keep the same room for the whole stay. Rooms are assigned by the hotel, so now and then it may ask you to change rooms, or to check out and in again between reservations.
- A move between hotels is always shown before you book, with the date of the move and the walking time between the two. You check out of one and into the other on that date.
- A night beyond your departure. Sometimes a longer booking costs less than the one you asked for. When we book an extra night for that reason, we say so before you pay. You are paying for that night; you leave on the day you planned, and the unused night is not refunded.
- Accessible rooms are only ever booked when you choose one. If a plan moves you to a hotel where the room is not an accessible room, we say so before you book.
- Reservations are made through our booking provider, not directly with the hotel. Hotel loyalty programs may not award points or benefits for them.
4. Prices
Every price we show is an all-in total for the whole stay, in US dollars, including the taxes and fees the hotel tells us about. We never show a nightly rate. Where a hotel collects money at the front desk, such as a resort or destination fee, we show that separately, because your card is not charged for it. Where a hotel has not told us its taxes, we say so, and a local tax may be collected at the desk.
Hotel prices change constantly. We re-check the price of your chosen plan at the moment you book. If it has gone up, we stop and tell you rather than charging more than we showed. If a room has been taken, we stop and offer you current prices for the same dates. Nothing is charged in either case.
A saving is measured against booking the same stay as a single reservation through Rihado on the same day. It is not a claim about any other website’s price.
If a price is obviously wrong, such as a rate that is a small fraction of the hotel’s normal rate because of an error in the data we receive, we may cancel the reservation and refund you in full.
5. Payment
You enter your card once. For each reservation in your plan, a hold is placed on your card for that reservation’s amount, and the hold is charged only when that reservation is confirmed. You will see one charge per reservation on your statement, adding up to the total we showed you. If a reservation cannot be confirmed, its hold is released. If you leave checkout part way through, any holds lapse on their own.
Payment is taken by LiteAPI as merchant of record, using its payment processor. Amounts payable at the hotel are paid to the hotel at check-in, in whatever way the hotel accepts.
6. Cancellations, refunds and changes
Cancellation terms are set by the hotel, not by us, and are shown on each reservation before and after you book. Deadlines are shown in the hotel’s local time. You can cancel an individual reservation from your trips page where its terms allow it.
Refunds are issued by the booking provider on the hotel’s terms, to the card that was charged. The amount refunded is the amount charged to your card for that reservation; anything payable at the hotel is between you and the hotel. A non-refundable reservation is not refunded if you cancel it or do not stay.
We cannot change a reservation’s dates, room or guest name after booking. A change means cancelling, where the terms permit, and booking again at current prices.
7. When something goes wrong
A stay in several reservations can, rarely, part-succeed: one is confirmed and another fails. If that happens we try to release what we booked and charge you nothing. If we cannot release something, we tell you plainly, mark the trip as needing attention, and contact you. We do not leave you to find out at a front desk.
The hotel is responsible for your stay: the room, the building, its staff and its services. If something at the hotel is not as it should be, raise it with the hotel first. If a hotel cannot honour a confirmed reservation, write to us and we will work with our booking provider to put it right.
8. Your responsibilities
- Give the guest names exactly as they appear on ID. Hotels can refuse a reservation whose name does not match.
- Meet the hotel’s own requirements: minimum age, valid ID, and a card for incidentals at check-in.
- Follow the hotel’s rules during your stay.
- Do not resell reservations, and do not use Rihado for anything unlawful.
9. Where we operate
We currently book hotels in the fifty United States and Washington, DC. We may change, suspend or withdraw the service at any time. We may decline or cancel a reservation where we reasonably believe it is fraudulent, mistaken, or the result of a pricing error, and we will refund anything charged for it.
10. Content and third parties
The Rihado name, logo and website are ours. Hotel names, descriptions and photographs come from the hotels through our booking provider; we show them as we receive them and do not verify them. Maps are drawn from OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap data. Walking and transit times are estimates. A directions link opens Google Maps, which has its own terms.
11. What we do not promise
Rihado is provided as it is. We do not promise that a cheaper way to book will exist for any stay, that the service will always be available, or that hotel information is complete or accurate. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
12. Our liability
We are responsible for the booking service we provide. We are not responsible for the hotel stay itself, or for anything that happens at the hotel.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as missed travel connections, lost earnings or alternative accommodation, and our total liability for anything connected with a trip is limited to the total amount paid for the reservations in that trip.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
13. Your responsibility to us
If your breach of these terms, or your misuse of the service, causes a claim against us or a loss to us, you agree to cover that loss, including reasonable legal costs.
14. Disputes and governing law
If you have a problem, write to us first at support@rihado.com. Most things can be sorted out quickly; we will try to resolve any dispute with you informally within 30 days.
These terms are governed by the law of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be heard by the state or federal courts in Albany County, New York, and you and we each agree to those courts’ jurisdiction. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer law of the place you live.
15. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we will update the date at the top. Where a change matters to you, we will email you before it takes effect. A reservation is governed by the terms in effect when you made it.
16. General
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the cancellation terms shown on each reservation, are the whole agreement between you and us about Rihado. If any part of them is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else.
